Every year our school has a "Pumpkin Night" event, sponsored by the Girl Scouts, where students and families are asked to tap their imaginations to create unique pumpkin designs.
I'm always amazed by the creativity. There are painted pumpkins, scary pumpkins, carved pumpkins and look-alike pumpkins. We've seen pumpkins transformed into giant cheeseburgers, peacocks, football helmets (that was my son's), snowmen, birthday cakes and dollhouses.
In case you are stumped this year, here are some of my favorites from last week's Pumpkin Night. Vote for your favorite by leaving a comment below!
Ice Cream Bowl: I loved the way this trio of fifth-graders used those cute tiny pumpkins as scoops of ice cream (left).
Caterpillar: Who wouldn't love this little guy - or girl?
You may recognize these popular video-game characters.
Pumpkin fairy: Pink is the name of the game here. Can anyone say "Pinkalicious"?
The Hulk: From an "Avengers" fan ... OK, it was my daughter's entry.
Soccer Ball: Complete with the shoes!
Ghost: A more traditional design, but with a bat mask for a twist!
