CHAMPAIGN — Tickets go on sale Wednesday for the Monsters & Magic Tour, a monster truck show coming Jan. 19 to the University of Illinois Assembly Hall.
The 7:30 p.m. show will have more than 40,000 pounds of monster trucks, including Raminator, Star Marshal, Chalkboard Chuck and the Lucas Oil Stabilizer.
It also will feature illusions and nonstop action that includes a midair escape in the spirit of Houdini, according to a news release.
A pit party and driver autograph session for ticketholders is set for 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. the day of the show.
You can order tickets by visiting the Assembly Hall box office, charging by phone at 866-ILLINI-1 (866-455-4641) or going online at http://www.uofiassemblyhall.com [2] or http://www.MonsterNationals.com [3].
Tickets for the show range from $15 to $25; group rates for 10-plus people are available by calling 333-5404.
Tickets also are on sale now for another January show at the Assembly Hall: The Harlem Globetrotters take the court at 7 p.m. Jan. 10.
Fans will decide the rules for the game that could affect the final outcome. This could be anything from playing with two basketballs at once to getting double the points for each basket made, a news release said.
Visit http://www.harlemglobetrotters.com [4] to vote for which rule you want to see used in the game.
Before the game, audience members can spend time on the court with the Globetrotters one-on-one — shooting, trying ball tricks and getting autographs and photos.
This year's Globetrotters roster features stars such as Big Easy Lofton and Scooter Christensen.
Tickets, starting at $21, are available at http://www.harlemglobetrotters.com [4] or through Assembly Hall outlets. Information on group and Scout tickets can also be found at the Globetrotters' website.
