CHAMPAIGN — The Bella boutique on South Neil Street plans to reopen Friday as "the remix of bella" with a new blend of merchandise.
The boutique at 1422 S. Neil St., C, closed Oct. 8, with an assurance that it would reopen sometime in November.
The remix of bella — which like the original store is owned by Carmen Davis Kirby — will continue to sell women's apparel, accessories, vintage furniture and home decor.
Hours will be 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays. The store will be closed Mondays.
Co-manager Melinda Engle, who oversees apparel, said the store now focuses on designer denim and more casual clothing. It also carries accessories, including jewelry, handbags and scarves.
Co-manager Milea Hayes, who oversees furniture and home decor, said the store had added more vintage furniture. Styles include antique, midcentury modern, shabby chic and retro. The store also carries new furniture.
Apparel and home furnishings are displayed together on the main floor, with no merchandise being displayed upstairs for now.
Stacy Wathen, who operates a business called "rec-la-ma-tion," is supplying the store with furniture she has reclaimed and reworked.
The store moved to its current address from the Shoppes of Knollwood in April 2010.
