VILLA GROVE – Linda "Kay" Utterback, 69, of Villa Grove died at 3:19 p.m. Monday (Nov. 5, 2012), at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Joines Funeral Home (Illinois 130 South), Villa Grove, with the Rev. Darrell Hinkle officiating. Burial will be in Villa Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at the funeral home.
Kay was born May 31, 1943, in Hugo, a daughter of Tom and Francis "Marge" (Ghere) Utterback. She is survived by three children, Brett (Sue) Wilhelm of Affton, Mo., Christine (Tony) Clark of Villa Grove and Blake Wilhelm of Villa Grove; five grandchildren, Justin, Daniele, Gavin, Graham and Alyhia; one great-grandchild, Lily; two sisters, Peggy Bell of Urbana and Karen (Broc) Bell of Villa Grove; and three nephews.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents.
Kay went to Villa Grove schools, then attended beauty school, and had her own shop in Villa Grove for three years. She lived in Windsor, Ill., Fort Wayne, Ind., Mansfield, Ohio, Merrilville and Anderson, Ind.
Kay worked for 13 years at Anderson Christian School in Anderson, Ind. In May of 2003 she moved back to Villa Grove and started working at Villa Grove Elementary School.
