WESTMONT – Darlene Charlotte Blair passed away peacefully on Saturday (Nov. 10, 2012) at her home in Westmont.
Born on Sept. 27, 1916, in Charlotte, Mich., she graduated from Fisher High School. After her marriage to Allen Blair on Sept. 30, 1936, they shared 63 years together. They farmed in the Foosland area for many years. Several winters were spent in Lakeland, Fla. They moved to Westmont in 1998.
Darlene is survived by her children, Coena (Lawrence Dettmer) Coffee of Downers Grove and Gerald (Charity) Blair of Downers Grove and Calapan, Philippines. Her grandchildren are Brett (Lara) Coffee of Burke, Va., Todd Coffee of Huntington Beach, Calif., Michelle (Jennifer Lewis) Blair of Bloomington, Susan (Geoff) Grosse of Normal and Jeremy Blair of Durango, Colo. Great-grandchildren Keegan Grosse, Caden and Ainsley Coffee were the joy of Great-Grannie Darlene's life.
Her cat, BC (Black Cat), was a constant companion for several years.
She enjoyed her collection of over 300 bears and picked them up often for a hug.
Preceding Darlene in death were her husband, mother and stepfather, Merle and Robert Green, and two stepsisters, Roberta Green and Martha Peters.
Her wonderful caregivers were Gilda Noyna, Linda Amadora and Josephine Jauiola Espabillo.
Mrs. Blair was a member of Fisher Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be at Lux Memorial Chapel, 1551 East Grove, Rantoul, at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, with visitation at 10 a.m., prior to the service. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Foosland.
Memorials will be made to the Fisher Methodist Church or Chaddock Home in Quincy.
