Free home visit service expanding. Home Visit Program is an initiative by senior care professionals at Canterbury Ridge Assisted Living, Urbana, that's designed to check on the wellbeing of older people throughout the region. Call Canterbury Ridge Assisted Living, 328-3150, to request a visit to a local senior to see if he or she is doing well physically and psychologically. Emeritus connects the senior and family with the proper resources and services to provide assistance.

HOT LUNCH PROGRAM
Peace Meal Nutrition Program provides daily hot lunches at 11:30 a.m. for a small donation and a one-day advance reservation at various sites in Urbana, Champaign, Rantoul, Sidney, Mahomet and Homer.
The program is for people age 60 or older. For reservations or more information, call 800-543-1770.
Home-delivered meal clients will receive two meals every Thursday and will not have delivery of meals on Friday. Meals will not be served at the Peace Meal sites on Fridays to those clients who typically attend the congregate sites. Reservations for Monday will need to be made with the site by noon Thursday.
Monday: Settlers beef and beans, spinach and fruit salad, banana, bread, graham crackers, butter or fortified margarine (served with each meal), milk (served with each meal).
Tuesday: Hamburger or brat, scalloped corn, three-bean salad, spiced peaches, bun.
Wednesday: Pork loin with gravy, mashed potatoes, escalloped tomatoes, creamy cole slaw, bread.
Thursday: Closed for Thanksgiving holiday.
Friday: No meals served. Two meals delivered Thursday.
Champaign-Urbana: Rides for grocery shopping in Champaign-Urbana city limits and rides for Champaign County residents to medical appointments can be arranged by contacting the Senior Resource Center of Family Service at 352-5100.
The Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District provides senior citizens with a special card for free bus transportation in Champaign-Urbana and half-price taxi service. Call MTD at 384-8188.
