GIBSON CITY – Steven R. Arnette, 63, of Gibson City died at 9:10 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 15, 2012) at the ASTA Care Center in Paxton. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, at the Drummer Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City before the service.
Steven was born Nov. 2, 1949, in Bloomington, a son to David W. and Catherine (Smock) Arnette.
Steve is survived by his mother, Catherine Foster of Danville; a son, Cody, of Gibson City; a daughter, Anjanette (Eric) Christensen of Melvin; four brothers, Dave of Paxton, Lance (Pam) of Danville, Brett of Gibson City and Bruce of Gibson City; and two grandchildren, Dylan and Riley Christensen. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Sue Anne. Steve worked with Lifeline at Gibson Area Hospital and worked in the receiving department. He was a member of the American Legion and the 40 and 8.
Steve was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1968-1976. He enjoyed putting model cars together, reading western books, rodeos and fishing. Memorials may be made to the Gibson City American Legion or to the family.
