HOOPESTON – Albert Lee Jackson, 92, of Hoopeston passed away at 3 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 17, 2012) at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.
He was born Aug. 14, 1920, in Lebanon, Ky., a son of Ben and Mary Brown Jackson. He married Mildred Riley on Dec. 7, 1940, in Lebanon, Ky. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Joseph (Glenda) Jackson of Russellville, Ind., Rosa May Chadwell of Greenwood, Ind., Carolyn (Steve) Gigax of Patricksburg, Ind., Dorothy Denny of Greencastle, Ind., Linda (Byron) Yanders of Hoopeston, Mildred (Scott) Hoss of Rocky Ford, Colo., Gerald (Amy) Jackson of Bismarck, Brenda (Tony) Perryman of Rabbit, Ky., Kenneth Jackson of Hoopeston and Margaret Ward of Mississippi; 47 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren, seven great-great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, David (Peggy) Jackson of Austin, Texas, and Billy Jo (Reba) Jackson of Louisville, Ky.; and a sister, Helen Dalton of Louisville, Ky.; and his Shih Tzu, Star.
Albert was a farmer and enjoyed fishing and working on lawn mowers and cars.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21 at Brown-Alkire Funeral Home with Pastor Earl Eells officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
