In girls’ basketball:
St. Thomas More 54, Prairie Central 48. The visiting Sabers handed Prairie Central its first defeat behind Lexi Wallen’s 18 points and seven rebounds. Tori McCoy added 14 points and eight rebounds for STM (6-1).
St. Joseph-Ogden 51, Rantoul 24. Bailey Trimble sank four threes and scored 18 points to lead the Spartans (5-0) to a home win. Ashley Landis had seven of SJ-O’s 11 steals.
Central A&M 62, Sullivan 53. The Redskins, who trailed by 16 at halftime, rallied in the second half but couldn’t overcome 7-for-23 free throw shooting in a home loss. Asia Morrison and Emily Neuhauser combined for 32 points for Sullivan, and teammate Brittin Boyer contributed eight points and 12 rebounds.
LeRoy 51, Deer Creek-Mackinaw 28. Lauren Russell’s 11 points led a balanced Panther attack and freshman teammate Ali Dial finished with a double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds) in the road win.
Tuscola 47, Shelbyville 23. The Warriors outscored Shelbyville 17-2 in the second quarter of a road win. Amber Miller scored a game-high 15 points for Tuscola, and teammate Erin Weaver scored eight of her 14 in the second period.
Armstrong-Potomac 44, Judah Christian 29. The Trojans outscored the Tribe by seven points in both the first and fourth quarters en route to a road victory. Erika Sieberns led A-P with 14 points, sharing game-high honors with Judah’s Leslee Chambers.
Iroquois West 48, Cissna Park 31. After scoring 17 in the first quarter, Cissna Park was limited to 14 thereafter by the visiting Raiders. Morgan Small scored a game-high 14 points for IW. Madison Overby had a double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds) for CP.
Fisher 50, Lexington 24. The Bunnies outscored their visitors 41-15 over the final three quarters. Sydney Blackwell hit four three-pointers and scored 19 points for Fisher. Teammate Caitlin Cole scored 12 of her 14 points in the third period and finished with nine rebounds. Olivia Heffernan contributed nine assists.
Ridgeview 45, Blue Ridge 42. Paige Jones sank five three-pointers and scored 22 points to help the visiting Mustangs fend off rallying Blue Ridge. Jamison Brandt scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Knights, who outscored Ridgeview 30-17 in the second half.
Villa Grove 52, Westville 34. Courtney Helm and Lizzy Smith scored 17 points apiece for the Blue Devils in a road win.
Cerro Gordo/Bement/DeLand-Weldon 57, Arthur-Okaw Christian 22. Led by Arionna Gant’s 11 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks, the Broncos rolled to a home victory.
Clinton 37, Monticello 32. Behind Layne Buzan’s 17 points, the winless Sages threw a scare into visiting Clinton (5-1). Jessica Scott had 10 points for the Maroons.
Watseka 64, Beecher 18. Trisha Martin and Devin Curry combined for 27 points for the Warriors in a home win.
