In girls’ basketball
Centennial 88, Champaign Central 47. Chantal Meacham scored 15 points, all on three-pointers, to lead the visiting Chargers to a Big 12 victory against their city rivals. Five players scored in double figures for Centennial. Laura Litchfield paced the Maroons with 13 points.
Danville 36, Normal Community 23. The Vikings outscored Normal Community 23-10 in the second half to pull away to a home win. Michaela Jones scored nine points for Danville.
Salt Fork 47, Chrisman 33. Taylor Vice scored all 12 of her points in the second half, when the Storm outscored Chrisman 27-15 en route to a home win. Jordyn Lunger led the Cardinals with 13 points.
Villa Grove 47, Arcola 35. Lizzy Smith’s 19 points lifted the Blue Devils to a home victory. Taylor Edwards led Arcola with 12 points.
Fisher 55, Blue Ridge 34. The Bunnies built a 34-17 halftime lead and hit 6 of 7 three-point attempts en route to a road win. Caitlin Cole had 19 points and 11 rebounds for Fisher, and teammate Sydney Blackwell went 4 for 5 beyond the arc and scored 12 points. Olivia Heffernan contributed six points, six assists and four steals to the victory. Jamison Brandt scored 15 points for the Knights.
Shiloh 68, Arthur Okaw Christian 22. The Raiders bolted to a 21-2 first-quarter lead en route to a 46-point home win. Shelby Smith led a balanced Shiloh attack with 12 points, and teammate Lauren Moses contributed seven points, six rebounds, four steals and three assists. Hanna Erwin had eight points for the Conquering Riders.
Heritage 53, Judah Christian 32. Desirae Westerfield scored a season-high 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lift the Hawks to a road victory. Teammate Mary Happ added nine points and seven rebounds. Kristina Lee led the Tribe with 17 points and six steals.
El Paso-Gridley 42, Ridgeview 16. Paige Jones scored nine points for the Mustangs in a home loss.
Buckley Christ Lutheran 36, Kankakee Trinity Academy 34. The visiting Crusaders won in overtime behind Andrea DeBella’s 13 points and four steals. Dani Meyer and Olivia Janssen (nine rebounds) each had field goals for BCL in the OT.
Bismarck-Henning 41, Hoopeston Area 35. Abby Bergman’s 16 points and eight rebounds lifted B-H to a road win. Shelby Holzinger racked up 21 rebounds and scored nine points for the Cornjerkers.
Iroquois West 57, Tri-Point 25. Ten Raiders contributed to the scoring in a home win. Morgan Small led the balanced IW attack with 10 points.
Sullivan 79, Warrensburg-Latham 56. Emily Neuhauser and Brittin Boyer combined for 44 points to propel the Redskins to a road win. Boyer grabbed nine rebounds, and Elissa Stewart
and Asia Morrison contributed seven steals and seven assists, respectively, for Sullivan.
n Maroa-Forsyth 45, Unity 41. Kennedy Hartman scored all of her team-high 11 points for the Rockets in the first half of a road loss.
Argenta-Oreana 57, St. Teresa 55. Kandie Bloch’s 26 points helped the Bombers stave off a late rally by St. Teresa for a road win. Katelynn Mullins contributed 17 points for A-O.
Tuscola 37, Meridian 29. Senior Erin Weaver reached 1,000 points for her career while recording a double-double (14 points, 12 rebounds) for the Warriors in a road win. Anna Watson also had 14 points for Tuscola.
In boys’ basketball
Arcola 59, Urbana University High 58. Freshman Kollin Seaman sank a three-pointer with 0.8 second left to boost the Purple Riders to a home win. Sophomore Nick Hudson scored 23 points and Seaman finished with 18 for Arcola, which trailed by five points at halftime. Patrick Wong scored a game-high 28 points for the Illineks. Teammate Tarik Koric had 14 points, six assists and five rebounds.
La Salette 44, Chrisman 32. Joel Wurm scored 16 points to lift La Salette to a road win. Dalton Hoult led the Cardinals with 12 points.
Judah Christian 57, Heritage 43. Krys McClure’s double-double (18 points, 10 rebounds) and Ethan Chitty’s 19 points boosted the Tribe to a home win. John Taylor scored 26 points for the Hawks.
At Mattoon. Austen Schott (132 pounds) recorded a first-period pin for Centennial in a 51-28 loss to the Green Wave. Terrace Davis (126), Darren Wynn (138) and Jordan Terry (160) also had pins for the Chargers.
At Rantoul. Jarod Noel (170) and kenzie noel (195) had first-period pins for Bismarck-Henning in a 48-30 victory against the Eagles. Javen Cobb (152) and Hunter Adkins (160) of Rantoul pinned their opponents.
At Monticello. Tyler Walsh (113), Peyton Roop (132) and Wes Anderson (285) scored first-period pins for LeRoy, which edged the Sages 33-31. Andrew Koss (138) and Marcus Rice (160) had pins for Monticello.
At Fairbury. Pins by Cameron Schwing (120) and Dylan Donner (126) in the final two matches lifted GCMS/Fisher over Prairie Central 37-34. Cody Parks (220) recorded a 22-second pin for the Hawks.
At Fithan. Antonio Alvarez (126) and Austin Shelton (138) had pins for Oakwood in a 55-24 victory against Hoopeston Area. Westville/Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Salt Fork defeated the Cornjerkers 54-30 behind first-period pins by Kodi Ellis (120) and Tyler Dicken (195). Gage Foster (132) and Ethan Linder (285) had two pins apiece for Hoopeston Area.
In boys’ swimming
At Urbana. Isaac Kasten of second-place Champaign Central won the diving in a three-team meet. Brandon Bell of the Maroons placed second in the 200- and 500-yard freestyles.
