VILLA GROVE — An Urbana man died in a two-vehicle accident Friday evening in rural Villa Grove.
Douglas County Coroner Joe Victor said that Dojai D. Hill, 38, of 708 Sunny Lane, Urbana, was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident on Illinois 130 about a mile and a half south of Villa Grove.
Douglas County sheriff’s deputies were called to the accident about 5:55 p.m., Victor said.
According to a coroner’s report, Mr. Hill was driving a car north on Illinois 130 when it crossed the center line and was hit on the passenger side by a pickup truck driven by Joseph Gallagher, 40, of Urbana.
Victor said that Gallagher was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, which had no information on his condition Saturday.
The state police accident reconstruction team is investigating.
Villa Grove police also assisted the coroner’s office, state police and sheriff’s office.
