High school and college students still have five days left to take part in the “Free to Tweet” campaign and have a chance to win $5,000 in the process. You may have noticed the ads in our newspaper and on the website, and here's what it's about.
“Free to Tweet” is a 15-day campaign to celebrate First Amendment rights. It began Dec. 1 and lasts through Dec. 15. Students who tweet about their favorite First Amendment freedom using the hashtag #FreeToTweet will be entered into a competition to win one of five scholarships, each worth $5,000. There will be one scholarship for each of the five freedoms named in the First Amendment — speech, press, religion, assembly and petition.
This is the second year for the campaign. It's organized by 1 for All, an educational and public service campaign that builds understanding of the First Amendment.
You can find out more about the campaign as well as lots of information about the First Amendment at the 1 for All [2] website. Urge your student to take part.
