MANSFIELD – Nora Lee Newlin Rogers, 84, of Mansfield passed away at 10:35 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 8, 2012) at Bement Health Care Center, Bement.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Mansfield, with Steve Brady officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery, Mansfield. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Winterrowd Christian Church, Winterrowd, Ill., or Unity Baptist Church, Champaign.
Nora was born Aug. 16, 1928, in Newton, a daughter of Lawrence E. and Opal M. Mahaney Newlin. She married Peter H. Rogers on April 7, 1946, at the Winterrowd Christian Church, Winterrowd. He passed away Aug. 9, 2003.
Survivors include her children, Robert Alan (LaVonn) Rogers of St. Joseph, Barbara Jo Dolph of Mansfield, Gary Gene (Kathy) Rogers of Mansfield and Thomas Dean (Donna) Rogers of Atwood; nine grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren; two stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ezra Dean Newlin of Wheeler.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Nora was a 1946 graduate of Newton High School, Newton. Nora had worked at Goldblatt's, Magnavox, Joseph Kuhn & Co., Klemn Nurseries and Pioneer Seed.
She had been a member of the First Christian Church, Newton; Winterrowd Christian Church, Winterrowd; and Bethel Church, Farmer City. She was now a member of Unity Baptist Church, Champaign. Nora was baptized at the age of 12 in Muddy Creek south of Newton.
She enjoyed her family, gardening, puzzles and genealogy.
