In boys’ basketball
Central 54, MacArthur 53. ISIAH SMITH hit two late free throws to put the visiting Maroons ahead and they hung on for their first win of the season. CHRIS HUTCHINSON had 19 points and ALEC ALTMYER added nine for Central in the Big 12 game.
M-S 65, Kankakee 52. Sophomore CONNOR DIEDRICH scored 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting and SAM HOHLFELDER added 17 points for host Mahomet-Seymour, which used a 19-9 first-quarter burst to take control. ROSS JOHNSON added nine points and five rebounds for the Bulldogs, who made 17 of 25 free throws.
Monticello 51, Olympia 43. RYAN DONOHUE had 18 points, MATT KRUSE had 12 and BRYAN PHIPPS added 10 to lift the visiting Sages
Salt Fork 36, Chrisman 29. Defense was the difference for the host Storm. CHRIS HOULT had nine points for the Cardinals.
Heritage 60, Tuscola 56. CHANCE LEMMON had 27 points, eight rebounds and four steals for the Hawks, who got 12 points and 11 rebounds from JOHN TAYLOR. SHAROM SHABROU led the Warriors with 23 points, and DUSTIN HAAKE had 14.
Schlarman 68, A-P 44. MICHAEL SIMMONS (19 points), AUSTIN CALHOUN (16 points, nine rebounds, four steals) and ANDREW KELLEY (14 points, eight rebounds) sparked the visiting Hilltoppers. BLAKE DAVIS had 14 points and WADE ROGERS 12 in the loss.
B-H 52, Hoopeston Area 28. AUSTIN TOLER scored 15 points, WILDE GAROWSKI had 11 and Bismarck-Henning enjoyed a 33-12 rebounding edge. MASON LAYDEN had 15 points in the loss.
Milford 57, G-RF 50. Late free throws by ALEX PORTWOOD and WADE FOX iced the win. JAKE ROGERS led Milford with 12 points. Kyle Colburn helped rally Georgetown-Ridge Farm from an early deficit.
Eureka 56, Rantoul 45. A slow getaway did in the host Eagles, who got 13 points from TALON HARDIN. Rantoul trailed 16-3 after one quarter.
A-O 63, Bement 50. GAGE ELLER had 12 points and KEEGAN McHOOD added 11 for host Argenta-Oreana, which led 20-5 after the first quarter. STEVE ISBELL (20 points) and TYCE RITTENHOUSE (12) led Bement.
Westville 61, Oakwood 37. LAYN WHITE (17 points), TANNER COX (14) and KYLE BRAZAS (11) paced a balanced scoring attack for the Tigers. KYLE ELLIOTT had 15 points in the loss.
Tri-Valley 73, Fisher 44. Tri-Valley forced 20 turnovers to roll to the Heart of Illinois road win. GRANT POINTER had 18 points for the Bunnies.
Lexington 60, LeRoy 37. NIC AUPPERLE had 14 points in the loss. DEE WOODS had 26 points in the loss.

Arthur Christian 64, Tri-County 59. ADAM BEACHY made five three-pointers en route to 21 points to lift the hosts. WES HENNINGSEN added 18 points. WES MOTLEY led the Titans with 19 points, WYATT FLESNER had 18 and TYLER WRIGHT had 15.
Pontiac 47, Prairie Central 45. ADDISON BOUNDS had 16 points for the visiting Hawks.
Watseka 63, Judah Christian 59. DAULTON DePATIS and AUSTIN BLAIR each scored 16 points for the Warriors. DYLAN HAMILTON had 22 points for the Tribe, and ETHAN CHITTY added 17.

Armstrong-Potomac 55, Schlarman 44. RACHEL MILES scored 15 points and ERIKA SIEBERNS added 12 for the Trojans, who pulled away in the third quarter. SIERRA BELL led Schlarman with 15 points and JANELLE MARION had 14.
SJ-O 48, Monticello 28. TORI MASTERS scored 15 points, ASHLEY LANDIS made three three-pointers and ASHLEY BEALS had six rebounds for visiting St. Joseph-Ogden (9-1). LAYNE BUZAN led Monticello with 14 points.
PBL 50, Blue Ridge 27. ERIN LEMLEY scored 11 points as host Paxton-Buckley-Loda (9-2) raced to a 28-10 halftime lead. JEANA CHEEK had eight points for the Knights.
Cissna Park 41, GCMS 12. MADISON OVERBEY had 12 points and four assists and ADDY STOLLER had seven assists for host Cissna Park, which led 27-6 at halftime.
Christ Lutheran 38, Trinity 28. ANDREA DeBELLA scored 14 points and OLIVIA JANSSEN had 12 for host BCL.
Hoopeston Area 51, Clifton Central 30. HALEY DIXON scored nine of her game-high 20 points in the third quarter to lift the Cornjerkers at the Iroquois West tournament. Hoopeston, 2-1 in tourney play, got a lift from MADDIE BROWN, who came off the bench for nine points in the second half.
Prairie Central 37, LeRoy 24. JOHN KUPFERSCHMID (182) won by pin to lift the Hawks. BROCK DANKO (120) had a pin for the Panthers.
