URBANA – Donald Lee Smith of Urbana died at 4:05 a.m. Friday (Dec. 14, 2012).
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Road, Urbana.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, at the funeral home. Pastor Eungoo Lee will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery.
Don was born Dec. 12, 1937, in Champaign, the son of Homer Beattie and Elizabeth Ann (Wilson) Smith. Don married Joyce V. Anderson on March 14, 1958. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Michael Smith of Oakwood; one daughter, Valerie Segalla (Johnny) of Little Italy, Ark.; grandson, Zachary Smith of Bismarck; granddaughters, Mollie Smith of Bismarck, Lesley Nalley (Scott) of Little Italy, Ark., Ashley Carnahan (Chris) of Conway, Ark.; great-grandchildren, Amanda and Kevin Nalley; brother, Jim Smith (Doreen) of Broomfield, Colo., as well as nieces and nephews. His sister, Pat Roelfs, preceded him in death in September 2012.
Don attended Urbana schools and the University of Illinois.
He had a lifelong farming career, and worked for many years at Parkhill Motors and the City of Urbana.
