SAVOY -- Less than five hours after a Savoy bank was robbed on Monday, police had a man in custody.
According to the Champaign County sheriff's office, Dustin Seidelman, 27, of Tolono, was arrested at his home at about 2:15 p.m. Monday, in connection with the robbery of the Savoy branch of Busey Bank.
Sheriff Dan Walsh said the bank was robbed shortly after 10 a.m. Monday. No weapon was displayed, and no injuries were reported.
Police swept the area immediately after the reported robbery and developed Seidelman as a suspect, the sheriff's office said. He had visited two other banks in the morning and those banks shared that information, working together "brilliantly," Walsh said in a press release. Police recovered evidence at those other banks, he said.
The robber drove south on U.S. 45 from the bank, which is at 108 Arbours in Savoy. He was driving a dark green SUV, possibly an older model Blazer, with dark windows and no rear license plate.
The robber was described as a white man, 5 feet 10 inches tall with a heavy build and dark hair, wearing a sweatshirt with a skull on it. He also was wearing a hat with a skull on it, and had two piercings in his lower lip, with rings.
On Tuesday Seidelman's bond was set at $100,000. His next court appearance was set for Feb. 12.

I use this bank. Yikes. You'd think, with modern computer technology so cheap and available, that banks could produce much better photos of suspects. Why can't they install cheap high definition cameras like the little cheapos in our cell phones? Instead, we get these terribly blurry, pixelated blow-ups that are utterly unrecognizable. Cost can't be the issue.
Uh, didn't you post almost the exact same comment the last time a bank was robbed? That first picture isn't exactly an HD screen grab, but it's a pretty darned good shot. With a face like that which only a mother could love, shouldn't be long before he's id'd.
He looks like he may have meant to rob Hardee's. This bank might have been a mistake.
It really is difficult to understand. With digital cameras being cheaper than ever, and a 1TB drive under $100... and the police get these pixelated pictures to work with.
These banks spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on their facilities, but have security cameras that are a complete joke.
I pulled my money out of Busey a few years back... right after they took government bailout money.
