CHAMPAIGN— Two people have been taken to an area hospital following a shooting Monday night on Champaign’s north side.
Champaign police spokeswoman Rene Dunn said that preliminary information indicates officers were called to the 200 block of Roper Street in Champaign at 7:22 p.m. to respond to a report of a shooting with multiple gunshot victims.
Police said that two men entered the home and fired shots before fleeing from the area, shooting two men in their early 30s.
Both victims were taken to an area hospital for treatment. No information on their condition was available late Monday night.
Dunn said that a third man inside the home at the time of the shooting was not injured.
Dunn said police were still interviewing witnesses and processing evidence.
