GIBSON CITY – Marjie Pearl (Roberts) Musson, 88, of Gibson City passed away at 2:28 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 25, 2012) at the Gibson Area Hospital Annex.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at the Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City with the Rev. John Tennyson officiating. Burial will take place at Lyman Township Cemetery in Roberts. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Marjie was born Sept. 17, 1924, in Lyman Township in Ford County, a daughter to Ralph Oscar and Pearl Inez (Johnson) Roberts. She married Fielding Junior Musson on June 30, 1946, at the Methodist Church in Gibson City. He passed away April 17, 1977.
Surviving are her children, Kathy (Roy) Schultz of Attica, Ind.; Linda Jewell of Leo, Ind.; and Ken (Sara) Musson of Rifle, Colo.; one sister, JoAnn Whitmore of Natick, Mass.; sister-in-law, Rita Musson of Sadorus; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was a graduate of Melvin High School and Illinois Commercial College in Champaign. Marjie worked during World War II as a secretary at Douglas Aircraft, which manufactured C-54 cargo planes on the site that is now O'Hare Field.
After she married she was a farm wife and manager for 60 years. She also was a member of the Roberts Methodist Church, Roberts American Legion Auxiliary and Ford-Iroquois Farm Bureau. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Roberts Methodist Church or the Gibson Area Hospital, Children's Department.
