At Champaign. Garrett Barnard, Brandon Bell and Evan Miller each won two individual events to lead Champaign Central to a 116-64 victory against Centennial at Unit 4 Pool. Barnard placed first in the 200-yard individual medley and 100 butterfly. Bell swept the 200 and 500 freestyles. Miller captured the 100 breaststroke and 100 freestyle. Miller, Barnard and Ashi Bhatt swam on two winning relays apiece for the Maroons. Heath Rogers of Centennial won the 50 freestyle and anchored the Chargers’ first-place 200 freestyle relay.
In girls’ basketball
St. Thomas More 79, PBL 28. The visiting Sabers set a school record for points in a quarter with 29 in the second period en route to their 13th victory in a row. Led by Tori McCoy (20 points, 10 rebounds), five STM players scored in double figures. The Sabers led 48-13 at halftime and shot 56 percent for the game. Amanda Ypya had nine points for the Panthers. STM (16-1) will attempt to tie the school record for consecutive wins Saturday when it visits Bloomington Central Catholic.
Decatur Lutheran 67, Judah Christian 48. Kristina Lee and Leslee Chambers combined for 39 points for the Tribe in a road loss.
Heritage 69, Martinsville 26. The Hawks bolted to a 20-2 first-quarter lead and breezed to a home win. Mary Happ nearly recorded a triple-double for Heritage with 22 points, nine rebounds and eight steals. Teammate Dallas McCormick added 18 points.
Armstrong-Potomac 41, Chrisman 16. The Trojans outscored Chrisman 17-0 in the first quarter in rolling to a home victory. Johanna Bruens led a balanced A-P attack with 10 points.
Fieldcrest 62, LeRoy 52. Lauren Russell hit five three-pointers and scored 17 points for the Panthers in a home loss. Kelsey Walker had eight points and seven rebounds for LeRoy.
Bismarck-Henning 43, Westville 32. The Blue Devils outscored Westville 25-10 in the second half to pull away to a home win. Brooke Walsh led B-H with 14 points. The Tigers’ Ashley Hoffman led all scorers with 17 points.
Unity 36, Cissna Park 32. Megan Bingaman’s double-double (13 points, 11 rebounds) propelled the Rockets to a home victory. Kennedy Hartman of Unity contributed eight points and nine steals. Addison Stoller led Cissna Park with 11 points.
Watseka 56, Iroquois West 35. Natalie Castonguay scored 16 points and Devin Curry had 14 to lead the Warriors to a road win. Morgan Small had 13 points and Andrea Fuoss grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds for the Raiders.
Urbana University High 44, Cornerstone Christian Academy 20. Emma Hoyer racked up 19 points, 19 rebounds and five steals for the Illineks in a road victory. Madeleine Nelson added 16 points for Uni.
Arcola 35, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond 17. Cara Edwards scored 11 points for Arcola, which built a 23-9 halftime lead en route to a road win. Ashley Tabb had six points and six rebounds for the Lancers, who lost Karly Goodman to a knee injury in the first minute of the game.
Monticello 53, Ridgeview 40. Layne Buzan’s double-double (11 points, 11 rebounds) and Chrissy Gadbury’s 15 points lifted the Sages to a road victory.
Cowden-Herrick 56, Sullivan 45. Despite forcing 26 turnovers, the Redskins fell at home. Brittin Boyer and Asia Morrison each scored 14 points for Sullivan, which lost Emily Neuhauser to a concussion early in the second quarter.
St. Joseph-Ogden 55, Clifton Central 22. The Spartans, who recorded 19 steals, rolled to a home victory behind Ashley Landis’ 17 points and eight rebounds.
Normal U-High 57, Mahomet-Seymour 24. Maggie Schmidt and Kristen Belyea each scored nine points for the Bulldogs in a home loss.
Clinton 55, Tri-Valley 29. Jessica Scott sank three three-pointers and scored 16 points for the Maroons in a home victory.
Tri-County 46, Shiloh 29. The Titans rolled to a home win behind Abby Smith’s double-double (14 points, 14 rebounds) and Amber Meyer’s 15 points. Morgan Wood had 12 points for Shiloh.
Bloomington Central Catholic 71, Rantoul 43. Despite Hannah Wascher’s 21 points, 14 rebounds and six blocks, the Eagles lost at home.
At Mount Zion. Austen Schott (132 pounds), Ethan Zinchuk (145) and Darnell Fleming (182) each scored first-period pins to lead Centennial to a 49-22 victory against Mount Zion.
At Fairbury. Nick Kaufmann (132), Ben Traub (138), Evan Bahler (152), Jake Adams (160) and Andrew Schuler (170) won contested bouts for Prairie Central in a 42-33 loss to Clifton Central.
