The Chargers (13-4) ran their Big 12 record to 8-0 thanks to a double-overtime win at Bloomington in a game where 37 of their season-high 90 points came from free throws. Michael Finke made 12 free throws, and Dustin Walls hit eight.

The Spartans (14-1) scored 74 points in back-to-back victories, starting strong in each game. SJ-O put up 28 first-quarter points against Watseka and 20 against Casey-Westfield. Chase Patton and Brent Schluter reached double figures each night.

WATSEKA GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
The Warriors (16-4) have won five in a row — two to start the new year — and none have been by fewer than 20 points. Four players scored in double figures last week, including Devin Curry in both games. She totaled 34 points in two games.

ARMSTRONG-POTOMAC GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
The Trojans (11-7) maintained a share of the Vermilion Valley Conference lead with a win against Chrisman. A-P scored the first 17 points against the Cardinals. Makenzie Vinson and Morgan Zindars each nailed three-pointers against Chrisman.

The Spartans (15-10) won three of four dual meets at Robinson. Nine squad members posted at least one pin for the day, led by 106-pound Corbin Wolken and 152-pound Austin Hedrick with three each. David Trewyn (126) and Gage Haga (132) each had two falls.
