URBANA — A former Oakwood man has been sentenced to more than nine years in federal prison for receiving and possessing child pornography.
On Friday U.S. District Court Judge Michael McCuskey sentenced Donald Cunningham, 47, who listed an address in the 2300 block of East University Avenue, Urbana, to 115 months in prison, followed by lifetime supervised release.
McCuskey also ordered Cunningham forfeit the computer and other electronic equipment he used to obtain the pornography.
Cunningham pleaded guilty in September to three counts of receiving child pornography and one of possessing it. According to court records, the crimes occurred during 2010 and 2011 when Cunningham lived in Oakwood.
After an Urbana police detective taking part in an undercover computer session identified 11 suspected child pornography files allegedly received from a computer in Oakwood on the evening of April 18, 2011, police got a search warrant for Cunningham's home in Oakwood,
On Sept. 7, 2011, Urbana and Oakwood police executed the search. Police recovered 478 videos and 213 still images of suspected child pornography from the computer, including four that matched images and videos police had received during the undercover session.
