CHAMPAIGN — Normal Community racked up eight three-pointers against Champaign Central on Friday night.
The final trey was a dagger.
Leading 54-52 with time running out in overtime, the Maroons were in position to hold off the Ironmen. Then Tyler Seibring sank a fadeaway three-point shot at the buzzer to lift Normal Community to a 55-54 win.
Xavier Martin led the Maroons with 15 points, while Kameron Rowan added nine points and Davion Watson eight.
Normal West 62, Danville 39. The Vikings were outscored 17-2 in the third quarter and couldn’t recover in a road loss.
After falling behind by 10 points following one period, the Vikings rallied to draw within 29-24 at halftime.
Then the Wildcats delivered a knockout punch.
Denzel Smith scored 14 points for Danville. Normal West sank seven three-point shots and outscored the Vikings 57-26 from the field.
Bloomington 89, Urbana 46. Donald McKinley scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Tigers in a road loss. Urbana fell behind 25-14 after one quarter and 50-24 at halftime.
Troy McBride finished with nine points and seven rebounds for the Tigers. Conner Gremer added 10 points, and Greg Boyd had five points and four assists.
