BEMENT – Betty B. Hendrix, 89, of Bement passed away at 9:35 p.m. Monday (Jan. 14, 2013) at the Carle Foundation Hospital E.R., Urbana.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at the First Presbyterian Church, 249 N. Macon St., Bement. The Rev. Marsha Frederick will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at Roux-Hinds Funeral Home, 348 N. Piatt St., Bement. Burial will be in the Bement Township Cemetery, Bement. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Bement, Bement E.M.T.s or the charity of the donor's choice.
Betty was born Nov. 5, 1923, in Raymond, a daughter of Grover and Mabel Hamman Adams. She married Warren N. Hendrix on May 26, 1944, in Bement, and he passed away on April 19, 2009.
Surviving children include: Warren "Nob" (Carolyn) Hendrix Jr. of Ivesdale, James (Deb) Hendrix of Clinton, Roger (Diane) Hendrix of Bement and Peg Young of Monticello. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Stacey (Steven) Tialavea, Kristen (Jose) Hendrix, Dave Young, Greg (Tracy) Young, Betty (Brad) Lake, Dan Hendrix, Jenny Hendrix, Kyle (Kristin) Hendrix, Andy Hendrix and Matt Hendrix; as well as 13 great-grandchildren. Betty is also survived by a brother, Jib (Frances) Adams of Bement; and a very special nephew, Mike (Mary) Adams of Weatherford, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Lyle Adams; and a sister, Frances Bruner.
Betty was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bement. She loved spending time with her family and welcomed her home to everyone.
Roux-Hinds Funeral Home, 348 N. Piatt St., Bement, has been entrusted by her family to honor Betty's life.
