ST. JOSEPH — Susan Chavarria, regional planning manager from the Champaign County Regional Planning Commission, presented the village board with the village's comprehensive plan goals and objectives this week.
Chavarria said that the planning commission was presented with the information last week and the commission requested some changes to 11 of the goals.
Chavarria said that the planning commission thought some of the language should be softened in some of the goals regarding open spaces in subdivisions.
The commission also asked for more information on some ordinances, like the storm water ordinance, that were listed in the goals and more information on tax increment financing districts and possible housing developments.
The board approved the recommendation from the Regional Planning Commission. In the future the board will start the implementation plan of the goals and objectives.
