CHAMPAIGN — Local filmmaker and entrepreneur Luke Boyce of Shatterglass Studios will give a free lecture in the Parkland College Meet the Pros series from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday in Room C118 on the campus.
It is open to the public.
The son of a graphic artist, Boyce grew up idolizing his father's sense of imagination and wonder. Then, in 1988, after reading a children's biography of Steven Spielberg, he decided he wanted to spend the rest of his life making movies. In 2006, Boyce started an award-winning new media development and film production company called Shatterglass Studios in Champaign. Since then he's directed and produced numerous award-winning short and feature-length films, commercials and promotional pieces.
In October 2012, Shatterglass Studios was named the Small Business of the Year by the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce.
The Meet the Pros series is sponsored by Parkland's graphic design department, 40 North 88 West arts council and the Champaign-Urbana Design Organization. For more information on the event, visit http://gds.parkland.edu/pros [2].
