RANTOUL — A Rantoul man remained jailed Saturday for an alleged sexual assault that took place Thursday night.
Rantoul police Sgt. Marcus Beach said Jeremy E. Davis, 22, who listed an address in the 1500 block of Par Drive, was arrested Friday after being interviewed about an encounter that took place in his home Thursday night.
Beach said Davis allegedly committed a forcible sex act with an 18-year-old woman who in his home Thursday. Beach said Davis was reportedly intoxicated when the assault occurred. The woman promptly reported it to police and sought medical attention at Carle Hospital but was not seriously physically injured. Patrol officers talked to Davis Thursday night but did not arrest him then, Beach said.
After an interview with police Friday morning, Davis was arrested on a preliminary charge of criminal sexual assault. Beach said Davis was cooperative.
He is scheduled to be formally charged on Monday. His bond was set Saturday at $25,000
His facebook page is pretty telling....just sayin'
Or is he just posting it on there to make it sound like he didn't know what he was doing? Sound like he is just creating a fake story to try and save his butt. He is guilty either way if she said know.
That's what I meant by telling. He knew something went wrong and he goes a little overboard trying to explain his "circumstances". Trying to cover his tracks to avoid trouble. Smart girl went straight to the hospital. They had all the evidence they needed, apparently.
