CHICAGO — A 40-year-old Urbana man is expected to appear in bond court Monday for a fatal shooting in Chicago.
According to a Chicago Police Department news release, Quinn Holmes, 40, who gave an address in the 300 block of West Park Street, Urbana, was arrested at his home on Thursday on a warrant for the murder of a 21-year-old man in Chicago.
At about 3:25 p.m. on July 2, the victim was standing on the sidewalk in the 4200 block of West Van Buren Street when an SUV approached and someone inside fired shots at him. The victim was hit in the chest and died from his injuries.
Chicago police and the U.S. Marshal's Service found Holmes at his home in Urbana on Thursday.
He was taken into custody without incident.
