DANVILLE — Aqua Illinois officials are warning water customers in the Danville area that their water may have a slight chlorine taste next month as a result of a routine, temporary procedure at the water company facility.
Starting Monday, Aqua Illinois will begin using chlorine as its primary disinfectant, according to a news release from Aqua Illinois. This routine water treatment procedure will continue through March 3. During this period, some customers may experience a slight chlorine taste in their water, and this will affect customers in the cities of Danville and Tilton and areas of Lake Boulevard and Hooton, according to Aqua officials. There is no health risk associated with this temporary maintenance procedure, officials said.
