IVESDALE – Jerry Casey, 74, of Ivesdale passed away at 7:48 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 30, 2013) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will be at noon Monday, Feb. 4, at Freese Funeral Home, Tolono, with the Rev. Patti Johansen officiating. Burial will be in Lewis Cemetery, Tuscola. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Casey was born Oct 11, 1938, in Urbana, a son to Arthur James and Nellie Lewis Record Casey. He married June Baker on Oct 24, 1959, in Crawfordsville, Ind. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Theresa (Gary Spoonemore) Somers of Sadorus, Karen (Bill) Sprouse of Fort Collins, Colo., Tammy (George) Tommasi of Park Ridge, Tim (Kim) Casey of Dewey and Kandi (Eric) Hall of Mahomet; 10 grandchildren, Joshua (Jen) Somers, Nathan (Layna) Somers, Garrett Sprouse, Allison Tommasi, Joshua, Hillary, and Megan Casey, Andrew and Tiffany Maple and Kaitlyn Hall; four great-grandchildren, Bella Somers, Kole and Gavin Somers and Kaylee Casey; and two sisters, Lois (Ronnie) Kalk of Ivesdale and Ann Smith of Interlachen, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents and his four brothers, Art, Michael, Ross and Patrick.
He was a member of Champaign Moose, Tuscola Elks and Painters Local 363. He loved the outdoors and planting a HUGE garden each year. He also loved spending time with his entire family at Allerton Park.
