DANVILLE — The Danville Light Opera will present three dinner theater productions, starting Friday, of "The Great American Trailer Park Musical," featuring Armadillo Acres, Florida's most exclusive trailer park, and the antics of Betty, Pickles and the other residents.
The performances will be in the Danville Area Community College Bremer Center Auditorium. Jodi Prosser directs, with music direction by David Zych.
Prosser directed the hit musical comedy in 2009 at the Station Theatre in Urbana.
The story gets kicked into overdrive when Pippi, a stripper on the run from Oklahoma, moves in and comes between the agoraphobic Jeannie and her tollbooth collector husband, Norbert.
The show has mature themes and coarse language, so it is recommended for adult audiences.
Dinner times for "The Great American Trailer Park Musical" are 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 12:30 p.m. Sunday. The doors will open 30 minutes before mealtimes, and the show will start following the meal. A dessert buffet will be available at intermission.
Tickets are $35 for adults or $28 for students. DLO's box office hours are 2 to 4 p.m. today and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at the Village Mall. Tickets also may be purchased at First Savings Bank, 6 W. Williams St., Danville, during regular business hours or by calling 431-1660.
The production of "The Great American Trailer Park Musical" is sponsored by Chittick Family Eye Care. For more information about DLO, visit http://www.danvillelightopera.com .
