LUDLOW — Residents can expect to receive letters from the village asking them to be mindful of the condition of their property and animals running loose.
Board member Steve Thomas discussed the idea at the village board's this week.
Mayor Pete Walker called it a "courtesy letter" that will be sent to everyone, asking them to consider the condition of their property.
The letter will involve the enforcement of ordinances regarding the height of grass, derelict vehicles and animals running at large. Thomas said the letters are a good idea with spring coming up.
In other business, the board approved a contract with Hanfland Painting Contractors of Sigel to sandblast and paint the village water tower.
The board also voted to pay Sodemann & Associates no more than $4,500 in design fees for the water tower project.
The board voted to borrow $40,000 from the Champaign County Regional Planning Commission at 4 percent interest, paid back over five years, to help pay for the water tower project. The rest of the project cost will be paid from money on hand.
