MAHOMET – David Bruce Huddleston, 59, of Mahomet passed away suddenly at 9:21 a.m. Friday (Feb. 8, 2013) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
He was born May 16, 1953, in Quincy to Warren and Lillian Ingles Huddleston. He married Connie Funneman-Kraft in Mahomet on July 7, 1984, and she survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Brittany (Mick) Shaw of Fisher, Jennifer Huddleston of Fort Myers, Fla., Mindy (Joe) Asselin of Champaign and Breanne (Tony) Bellagamba of Naperville. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; two brothers, Roger (Margo) Huddleston of Mahomet and James Huddleston of Bloomington; and two sisters, Suzan (Mike) Mamierston of Cape Coral, Fla., and Jean Huddleston of Champaign. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a financial adviser with Prudential for 27 years and owned the Hudd Group of Champaign. He was designated as a CLU, CHFC, AEP, CSA and CLTC. He was the co-owner with his mother Lillian of the Wonderful World of Homes in Mahomet.
He loved the Lord, his family, including his dogs, Hanna and Gracie, and the many relationships that he had established in his profession. He loved being a mentor to those who desired a different way of looking at life and he was also an avid woodworker and was able to fix anything.
He was a member of the Meadowbrook Community Church.
Visitation for Mr. Huddleston will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the Meadowbrook Community Church, 1902 South Duncan Road, Champaign.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, also at the Meadowbrook Community Church with the Pastor Kent Hollis officiating. Interment will take place at the Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.
Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or to the Carle Hospice.
