Top-rated by Illinois Best Weekly, he went unchallenged while beating his first two 1A foes at 132 by a combined 31-0 margin. In the semis, he needed a last-minute takedown to win 4-2.

Top-ranked in 3A at 138 pounds, he topped a 2012 state champion in the quarterfinals and then secured a championship-match berth himself thanks to an 8-4 semifinal victory. He’s 48-1.

Senior showed his conditioning, surviving overtime matches against his first two opponents in 3A at 120 and then ending his semifinal match in the required 6 minutes with a 5-2 triumph.
