CHAMPAIGN — The National Weather Service is forecasting rain through the first half of the week, but temperatures should remain relatively comfortable and lead into a pleasant weekend before Memorial Day.
Forecasters say Monday will remain warm — a high temperature around 88 degrees — with isolated thunderstorms increasingly likely as the day progresses. They otherwise expect partly sunny conditions with wind gusts up to 28 mph during the afternoon.
Showers and thunderstorms are likely Tuesday through Wednesday. Temperatures are expected in the low-80s or high-70s, and winds will remain gusty — as high as 25 mph on Tuesday afternoon.
Temperatures will drop into the low-70s on Thursday, and a chance of showers remains.
Friday and Saturday, though, should be dry with high temperatures around 70 degrees.
Sunday brings another chance for precipitation, with a high temperature around 75.
