DANVILLE - Work has started this week on the replacement of traffic signals at the intersection of Gilbert and Main streets in Danville.
The work entails replacing aged traffic signal poles, signal heads and hardware, according to the city of Danville. The majority of the work will be performed during the day, but some will be done at night. The project is expected to last two weeks, weather permitting.
The cost of the new signal equipment was paid by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
