A local state lawmaker said she's talking to those in charge of fixing the state's pension problem about what should be included in the solution.
Democratic Representative from Urbana Naomi Jakobsson said she plans to make at least one phone call to a member of the committee who's looking at the pension issue. She said everyone has to have a seat at the table.
Jakobsson also said that the committee will put forward an actual bill and not just a plan, but she's not sure if that bill will be ready by the Governor's deadline of July 9th. A reason for that, she said, is that once a bill is created, it'll take some time to figure out how much money it saves.
Jakobsson made the comments Monday on the NewsTalk 1400 WDWS Morning Show.
