An area lawmaker says progress is being made on pension reform, but Gov. Pat Quinn isn't doing anything to help that progress.
Republican Senator Chapin Rose of Mahomet sounded off on the topic on Thursday on the WDWS Morning Show.
He said the conference committee working on pension reform has been able to get Senate President John Cullerton and House Speaker Michael Madigan to begin to work together after two years of disagreement on this issue.
But Rose said Quinn is not involved nearly enough.
Rose also said whatever pension plan is eventually approved by the General Assembly won't take effect until next July. He said he supports Cullerton's plan, despite it not saving as much money as Madigan's. Rose said Madigan's plan is not constitutional.
