The head of the Champaign County Association of Realtors said a challenge in today's industry is getting the younger generation to buy homes.
That's the word from Todd Salen, who was a guest on Saturday on Central Illinois Business on WDWS.
Salen said that many Realtors are targeting what's known as the echo boom generation. Those are the kids of baby boomers who are in their 20s and are buying a home for the first time.
Salen also said that echo boomers may be discouraged from buying their first home because it includes what they may see as hidden costs.
Salen said that meeting with a bank or lender will also show you what you can afford. Then you can go to your Realtor prepared.
