A roundup of area prep events from Monday night
■ St. Thomas More 2, Unity 1. Lexi Wallen and Tori McCoy combined for 29 kills for the Sabers in a 30-28, 19-25, 25-21 home win. Hannah Murray had 20 assists and Allie Kreie added 16 for STM. Lizzy Barnard led Unity with 23 kills and teammate Bailey Reifsteck finished with 30 assists.
■ Urbana Uni High 2, Decatur Christian 1. The Illineks pulled out a 25-16, 18-25, 25-22 victory behind Lydia Mihaly’s 13 digs and Grace Lilly’s four service aces.
■ Schlarman 3, North Vermillion (Ind.) 0. Jordan Marganski had 18 assists and five service aces for the Hilltoppers in a 25-10, 25-9, 25-9 road victory. Joslyn Dietzen racked up seven aces for Schlarman.
■ Cerro Gordo 2, Meridian 0. Sadie Sawyer and Stephanie Shook combined for 19 digs for the Broncos (11-1) in a 25-20, 25-14 home win.
■ Watseka 2, Fisher 0. Unbeaten Watseka was put to the test in the second set but pulled out a 25-13, 26-24 road victory to improve to 19-0. Maddie Pfingsten finished with 29 assists for the Warriors, and Taylor Bauer recorded 14 kills. Alyssa Chapman had four blocks for Fisher.
■ Cissna Park 2, Herscher 1. The Timberwolves rallied to a 20-25, 26-24, 25-20 road win behind Addison Stoller’s seven kills, 10 digs and three blocks. Anna Kaeb had 21 assists for CP.
■ Arthur-Lovington 2, Atwood-Hammond 0. Sherelle Coller had 14 assists and Hannah Schrock contributed four service aces for the Lancers in a 25-12, 25-18 home win.
■ Chrisman 2, Heritage 1. The Cardinals rallied for a 17-25, 25-20, 25-18 home victory behind Shelby Warner’s six kills and two blocks.
■ Tri-County 2, Casey-Westfield 1. Abby Smith’s 13 kills and three blocks boosted the Tiants to a 25-13, 22-25, 25-13 road win. Alex Hudson finished with 28 assists for T-C.
■ PBL 2, Armstrong-Potomac 0. Jori Maynard’s 14 digs and Eve Bahler’s 13 assists lifted the Panthers to a 25-18, 25-14 home victory. Rachel miles had seven kills, 18 digs and two blocks for A-P.
■ Sullivan 2, Beecher City 0. Maggie Plank had nine service aces and seven digs for Sullivan in a 25-12, 25-23 road win.
■ GCMS 2, Clifton Central 1. The host Falcons pulled out a 25-22, 23-25, 25-19 win behind Allyson Barnes’ 21 digs and a combined 12 kills by Tori Gaesser and Emily Elder.
In boys’ soccer
■ Bismarck-Henning 5, Georgetown-Ridge Farm 2. Blake Reifsteck and Skylar Nuetzmann each recorded two goals and one assist for the Blue Devils in a road win. Reed Smith accounted for both Buffaloes goals, each unassisted.
■ Monticello 9, Olympia 0. The Sages scored seven times in the first half and rolled to a home victory behind two goals apiece by Luke Hanselman and Logan Fletcher. Goalkeeper Ryan Schaub recorded three saves for the shutout. Zach Armstrong contributed a goal and two assists.
■ Judah Christian 4, Bloomington Central Catholic 0. Lewis Nisbet’s hat trick and a defense that recorded its fifth shutout of the season boosted the Tribe to a road win. Max Berry contributed a goal and an assist for Judah (6-2-2).
■ Blue Ridge 1, St. Thomas More 0. After a scoreless first half, the host Knights won a defensive battle on an own goal off its corner kick. Goalkeeper Blayne Zeigler earned the shutout with 15 saves.
■ Fisher/GCMS 3, Iroquois West 0. David Ricks and Caleb Pulley each had a goal and an assist for the Bunnies in a home victory. Goalkeeper Will Brewer recorded seven saves for the shutout.
In boys’ golf
■ At Savoy. Rantoul/PBL produced the top two scorers but Centennial used superior depth to pull out a 181-182 victory at the University of Illinois Blue Course. Medalist Cody Bauman (41) and runner-up Keegan Brooks (42) paced the Eagles. Led by Cole Hagan (43), the Chargers captured the next five spots on the leaderboard.
■ At Onarga. Clark Fink and Kameron Wilken shot 39s to share medalist honors and lead Iroquois West to a 10-stroke victory in a three-team meet at Shagbark Golf and Country Club. Alex Portwood paced third-place Milford with a 45.
■ At Savoy. Riley Thompson of Champaign Central claimed medalist honors with a 41, but Monticello won the dual meet 181-191 at the University of Illinois Orange Course. Runner-up Zach Fisher paced the Sages with a 43, followed by teammates Kyle KaufmaNN (44) and Josh Gifford (46).
■ At Casey. Tyler Wright of Tri-County shot a 48 to tie for second place in a 191-196 loss to Casey-Westfield at Casey Country Club.
■ At Danville. Andy Bott shot a 36 to win medalist honors by 4 strokes and lead Bismarck-Henning to the title of a four-team meet at Harrison Park Golf Course. Teammate David Warren placed second. Adam High (41) of third-place Westville finished third.
■ At Dwight. Medalist Austin Percy shot a 45 for GCMS and teammate Devyn Roesch was 1 stroke behind, but the Falcons fell just short in a dual meet with Dwight, 190-191, at Dwight Country Club.
In girls’ golf
■ At Onarga. Medalist Lindsey Luehrsen shot a 42 and three teammates carded 44s, lifting Iroquois West (8-1) to a 174-245 win against Milford at Shagbark Golf and Country Club. Jenna Rogers led the Bearcats with a 57.
■ At Mahomet. Runner-up Emily Trolia carded a 40 to lead Mahomet-Seymour to second place in a four-team meet at Lake of the Woods Golf Course. Lexi Hornsby of the Bulldogs tied for sixth with a 47. Megan Rafferty (62) was the top scorer for fourth-place Prairie Central.
■ At Savoy. Evelyn Brand and Kendyl McFarland each shot 44s to lead Monticello to second place in a three-team meet at the University of Illinois Golf Course. Kayla Gould was the low scorer for Champaign Central with a 49.
■ At Dwight. Emily Allen shot a 57 and finished third for GCMS in a 233-250 loss to Dwight at Dwight Country Club.
In girls’ tennis
■ Centennial 8, St. Thomas More 1. Lauren Neitzel, Willa Olson, Sophie Kim and Gressa Olson each won their singles matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores as the Chargers rolled to a victory at Atkins Tennis Center in Urbana.
