The Knights (18-5) are one of the hottest teams around. Double-figure victories against conference foes Tri-Valley and Deer Creek-Mackinaw last week raised the school’s winning streak to 12 in a row, including every game played in 2014.
CHAMPAIGN CENTRAL BOYS’ SWIMMING
The Big 12 runner-up Maroons had athletes had 10 personal bests and secured top-five finishes in 10 of 12 events, including a first- and second-place sweep in the 100-yard breaststroke. The JV squad won team honors and had 41 personal bests.
CENTENNIAL BOYS’ BASKETBALL
The Chargers (17-4) stayed atop the Big 12 standings as they extended their winning streak to eight games, covering every contest played since the calendar turned to 2014. Michael Finke is the team’s lone double-figure scorer this season.
CLINTON GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
The Maroons (20-4) won their final two Okaw Valley Conference games to finish in a first-place deadlock with Sullivan for regular season supremacy. Four Maroons reached double figures in an 11-point triumph against Shelbyville, which clinched the tie.
