The Illinois Marathon will reopen registration for most of its races for several days starting Friday, organizers announced Thursday.
Online registration will reopen at 12:01 a.m. Friday and close at 11:59 p.m. Sunday for the marathon, marathon relay, half-marathon, full I-challenge, half I-challenge and 5K races.
The 10K and mini i-challenge are full and no further registrations will be accepted.
The official registration period for those races closed at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, although registration for the youth run, pasta feed and ARC pass remain open.
At least 19,329 people had registered for the six races on April 25-26. Last year's marathon drew a total of drew 20,735 runners.

Organizers also said Thursday that 125 additional volunteers are needed for the critical course intersection teams to ensure that the race is run safely. They need 20 volunteers for Friday's 5K race, 75 for Saturday and 30 team reserves.
About 3,600 volunteers are required to ensure the event runs smoothly, said Champaign Police Lieutenant Jon Swenson. So far almost 3,500 have signed up.
Anyone over the age of 16 can be a course intersection team volunteer.
Those interested should visit illinoismarathon.com, click on the volunteer tab and then the "Join Our Course Intersection Team" link. Volunteers can choose a location from the list available.
Training sessions for course intersection volunteers will be held at 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the UI's Activities and Recreation Center. New volunteers can attend either session.
A charitable donation will be made on behalf of each volunteer.
"Champaign-Urbana has stepped up in every way to support our event over the past five years. We need their help again more than ever to get over this hurdle," race co-director Mike Lindemann said.
