Firefighters from Tolono and Pesotum were called to cut LaPayne out of her car. She was taken by ambulance to Carle, where she was listed in good condition on Tuesday afternoon.
to Carle by ambulance but her condition was not immediately available. Her injuries were not considered life-threatening, deputies said.
LaPayne's car was considered a total loss. The Explorer was heavily damaged.
Coile said there is a stop sign on 1200 E but not one for east-west traffic on 200 N.
LaPayne had stopped at the stop sign and was about to make the turn but her view was blocked by corn. She was ticketed for failure to yield turning left.
