There was an interesting twist to the boys' basketball action on Tuesday night when Danville High School played at Centennial.
There was more scoring by each school in the preliminary junior varsity contest than in the subsequent varsity game. When was the last time that has happened?
In the JV game, Centennial held off Danville 74-71. When the varsity players took the court, they barely combined for 100 points with Danville edging the Chargers 54-47.
Our expectations are for results like what occurred that same night at Oakwood. Chrisman captured the JV game 46-28 in a contest where the combined point totals in the preliminary game did not match the production of either school in the varsity showdown.
In that matchup, Chrisman posted an 89-82 victory.
We don't have an explanation for what happened at Centennial, but at least we can make one conclusion: The youngesters from Centennial and Danville are plenty capable of scoring points.
