A sunny sky accompanied by comfortable humidity levels will occur today. The next chance for showers and thunderstorms occurs late Sunday night and continue into Memorial Day [2]. Prior to this, however, a very warm, more humid, but dry Sunday is expected here and at “The Brickyard” for the big race.
Meanwhile across the Corn Belt [3], the combination of warm weather and abundant soil moisture remains favorable for corn and soybean emergence and growth.
Elsewhere, a cold front [4] will cross the Plains on Sunday and the Midwest on Monday. The front will reach the East Coast on Tuesday.
During the next 5 days [5], the Southwest will remain mostly dry, while precipitation could total as much as 1 to 3 inches across the northern Plains and the Southeast.
