CHAMPAIGN - Champaign police have identified a second man believed involved in the shooting and robbery of a University of Illinois student on campus last month.
Detective Pat Kelly said police are now looking for Clint C. King, 20, whose last known address was on Comanche Drive in Champaign.
King was charged in a warrant issued late last week with aggravated battery with a firearm in connection with the Dec. 18 shooting of a 25-year-old Asian male in the 1000 block of South First Street between Chalmers and Armory.
Kelly said the man was shot in the arm and robbed of his wallet about 12:30 a.m. that day. He was treated and released from Carle Hospital.
Arrested shortly after the attack was Justin Porter Battle, 20, who listed an address in the 1300 block of Comanche Court, Champaign. Kelly said he remains in custody. His trial on the same charge is tentatively scheduled for March.
Kelly asked that anyone with information on King's whereabouts call Crimestoppers at 373-8477 or the Champaign police investigations division at 403-6925.
