Conversation that just took place in the newsroom.
Meg: Have you ever gotten a press release on a floppy disk?
Mike: A floppy disk?
Meg: Yeah, you know, a floppy disk. I just found several in that drawer over there.
Mike: Uhhh, yes. We used to get data on floppy disks, too.
Meg: On a floppy disk?
Mike: Yes. That’s how it worked.
Meg: I just found a VHS tape, too, for promotional purposes only. And people used to send us glossy promotional photos? So you didn’t go to the website and download high-res photos?
Mike: Yes.
Meg: And what about those slide things, what are they called?
Mike: Those are called slides. They even made machines to project the images larger.
Meg: Why would you send those to the newspaper?
Mike: Because we used those to print color images in the paper.
Meg: I like the Internet better.
Mike: I used to walk 10 miles to school, uphill both ways, barefoot, in the snow.
Meg: *puts on headphones, types this transcript, shares it with Mike on Google docs.*
