GILMAN – Joe Parkhill, Dane Krone and Mack Meyer each pounded out four hits for St. Thomas More in the Sabers' 23-3 baseball win against Iroquois West on Thursday. Parkhill's four-hit effort included a home run and Parker Stewart went 3 for 4 and stole two bases for the Sabers in the five-inning contest.
Iroquois West (6-8) got two doubles from Kyle Clark.
Sullivan 7, Arcola 2. Austin Righter and Zach Righter each went 1 for 3 with a double for the host Redskins (5-0). Austin Righter also drove in a pair of runs.
Watseka 7, Clifton Central 1. Drew Watts improved to 3-0, striking out 10 for the visiting Warriors. Sawyer Harris and John Braden (two RBI) each had a pair of hits for Watseka.
Rantoul 11, Armstrong-Potomac 9. Josh Clayborn had two hits and drove in three runs for the visiting Eagles (1-3). Devin Smith (two hits) and James Monroe (two RBI) chipped in offensively for Rantoul. Tyler Davis went 4 for 5 for the Trojans and drove in a pair of runs.
Prairie Central 14, Lexington 1. Trent Bounds drove in three runs to pace the visiting Hawks (3-2). Matt Dever and Luke Bachtold each drove in a pair of runs.
Centennial 13, Tuscola 3. Dylan Hast and Tim Weaver each had three hits with Hast adding two RBI for the host Chargers (4-1). Tyler Wick added two hits, including an RBI triple, and Mark Roughton drove in a pair of runs for Centennial.
Blue Ridge 7, Maroa-Forsyth 4. Trenton Weddle picked up the win for the host Knights, striking out 10 while not yielding an earned run. Nick Bulita and Caleb Davis each collected a pair of hits and two RBI for Blue Ridge (3-4).
Herscher 8, Prairie Central 4. Kaley Corban, Shari Steidinger and Kathryn Bahler each picked up two hits for the visiting Hawks (4-2). Corban also drove in a pair of runs.
St. Joseph-Ogden 12, Tri-Point 0. Hannah Bowen had three hits, stole three bases and scored three runs for the visiting Spartans (5-0). Abby Immke added three hits and three RBI.
Clifton Central 5, St. Thomas More 1. The host Sabers mustered three hits.
Momence 8, Watseka 3. Kloie McCann and Katie LaVoie each drove in a run for the visiting Warriors (5-4). Lauren Krumwiede added two hits for Watseka.
Paxton-Buckley-Loda 1-6, Iroquois West 0-5. Ally Edwards, Catie Sparks and Liz Saterlee each had two hits for the host Panthers in their Game 2 win. Brittney Gehrt earned the win in the opener for PBL, which scored its run on a first-inning error.
Monticello 9, Champaign Central 0. Krysten Wileaver had two hits and drove in three runs for the host Sages (9-1).
Urbana 5, Monticello 0. Kate Russell and Zoe Keller each scored twice and had an assist for the visiting Tigers (2-0).
Nicole Sanders scored Urbana's other goal on a pass from Allegra Wentworth.
Danville First Baptist 2, Normal Calvary Baptist 2. Jessica Greer scored each of First Baptist's second-half goals. Sydni Neal provided the assist on Greer's second score.
Mahomet-Seymour 2, Centennial 1. Kara Breedlove scored a first-half goal for the host Bulldogs (3-0) and Kaitlyn Pruitt broke a 1-1 tie with 12 minutes remaining giving M-S the win. Hannah Radnitzer scored the lone goal for Centennial (1-1).
Urbana University 7, St. Thomas More 0. Erika Belmont recorded a hat trick, scoring all three of her goals in the first half for the host Illineks. Michelle Wong and Joy Shapley each scored twice for Uni (3-2).
In boys' track:
At Fairbury. Prairie Central's Phil Johnson won the high jump (5 feet, 10 inches) and the 800 meters (2 minutes, 15.5 seconds) in a dual with Mahomet-Seymour that was called due to weather after the 800 relay with the Bulldogs leading 84-21.
In girls' track:
At Fairbury. Mahomet-Seymour's Dani Bunch won the shot put (46-1) and the discus (122-1) to lead the Bulldogs in a dual against Prairie Central. M-S was leading 74-30 when the meet was called after the 800 relay. Abby Popejoy posted a pair of wins for the Hawks in the long jump and the triple jump.
Centennial 6, Danville 3. David Ruedi, Billy Regan and Phil Ramsbottom each posted wins in singles and doubles for the visiting Chargers.
