BLOOMINGTON – Centennial's Imy Bullock won the high jump and the Chargers took the 800 and 1,600 relays at the Big 12 girls' track and field meet Friday.
Bullock cleared 5 feet, 3 inches to become one of two C-U athletes to win individual events.
Urbana's Shelby Stevenson took the pole vault with a height of 10-6.
Centennial won the 800 relay in 1 minute, 47.45 seconds, edging second-place Urbana by 0.15. The margin was larger for the Chargers in the 1,600 relay, posting a time of 4:06.44 ahead of second-place Bloomington's 4:09.24.
Urbana's Alyssa Wood finished second in the 200 and fourth in the 400.
Danville, which took second in the 400 and 3,200 relays, finished fourth in the team standings behind Bloomington, Normal West and Normal Community. Urbana was fifth, Centennial sixth and Champaign Central 10th.
Watseka rolls. The Warriors took first in the Irish Relays boys' meet at Kankakee Bishop McNamara. Marcel Maiden was the lone individual winner for Watseka, taking the triple jump title.
The Warriors won the shuttle hurdle relay and the 1,600 relay. Chris Florido ran for both winners. Watseka was second in four other relays.
In girls' soccer:
Urbana 2, Charleston 0. Kate Russell and Gretchen Booth scored goals, both on assists from Lauren Fritzsche, in a home win in nonconference play.
M-S 6, St. Thomas More 0. Kelsie Donley had two goals and an assist, all in the first half, as the visiting Bulldogs rolled in a nonconference match.
Terrisa Nevin, Melissa Sibley and Kara Breedlove also had goals for Mahomet-Seymour (8-5).
In boys' tennis:
Vikings finish seventh. Ryan Dyar went 2-2 in singles to help Danville to a seventh-place finish in the Eugene Hill tournament at Bloomington.
Colby Clapper, Assif Ahmed and Love Shah had singles victories for the Vikings.
