A warm front will remain to the south and southwest of the area while generating thunderstorm outbreaks through Saturday night. Occasional thunderstorm will continue even into Sunday as a low pressure area move along this boundary. This system will bring a brief period of dry weather for Monday, before the thunderstorms return for Tuesday. Warm and humid conditions can also be expected through the weekend and into early next week.
Elsewhere, an active weather pattern will persist into next week across the northern half of the U.S. Five-day rainfall totals could reach 2 to 6 inches from the northern Plains into the Ohio Valley. Lowland flooding may expand and intensify in the areas receiving the heaviest rain, particularly across the middle and upper Mississippi Valley.
