A heat wave expected late this week.
Temperatures sizzling into the lower and mid-90s Friday afternoon, combined with dew points in the low to mid 70s, will give Heat Indices from 100 to 107 degrees.
Temperatures will rise back into the lower and mid-90s Saturday and Sunday afternoon, with dew points in the low to mid 70s, generating Heat Indices from 98 to 105 degrees.
This will be the first major heat wave of the summer season. Avoid being outdoors for prolonged periods in the mid-day and afternoon sun. If you must be outdoors, wear light colored clothing, drink plenty of water and take frequent breaks in an air conditioned or shaded area to escape the heat. Never leave pets or children in unattended vehicles.
